1. What is the subject matter of the film? How violence and social ills affect our culture.
2. The Basic concept of the film is to examine the cultural and societal impact of violence on our culture and to contrast different viewpoints on the reality faced by society. We would like to offer some hope that there are solutions to the problem.
3. The goal of the film is to try to get Men to look inside and end the cycle of violence.
4. The inspiration for the film is the violence in our culture that has infiltrated every aspect of our lives.
5. What is the background, context, and history of the film? Everyday that you spend on the freeway, every family argument overheard in your apartment complex, everytime you turn on the television set, makes you aware that something is not right.
6. What is the core issue of the film? That there is a serious problem here that needs to be fixed.
7. What is the story line? In this conceptual piece I will remind the viewer about violence in our culture, how it affects us all, and why we are all personally responsible for our own actions.
8. What is the structure of the film? Layers of sound and images with a montage feel. Film opens with posing a question and setting up the conclusion. The middle part stimulates introspection in the viewer. The ending confronts the viewer with a choice, to be a good person or not.
9. What is the theme or question of the film? Why do men commit 90% of all crime?
10. Who is telling the story-how do you tell this story? I am telling the story with visuals, sounds, and words on a sub-conscious level.
11. Who is the main character? The main characters are the words that pop up on the screen challenging the viewer to think.
12. Where is the honest voice? In the juxtaposition of images and the confrontational words.
13. What specifically are we (the audience) going to SEE and HEAR? Point counter point visual and audio dichotomy that engages and challenges the viewer into thought.
14. What are the Elements that compose the film, i.e. interviews, events, V.O. narration, graphics, etc. What do you need to shoot the tell this story? No narration or interviews, just a visual and aural subliminal journey into introspection. The graphics consist of single words
15. How are those elements structured? The montages start slow and builds. Single words punctuate the visual and audio segments and lead up to the payoff word at the end. The elements that require shooting are simple images that represent our culture and its problems.
